Police: Trio snatches pricey jacket

Not a clean getaway

Cops arrested three people who they say swiped a Moncler jacket from a Flatbush Avenue clothing store on Nov. 15.

A witness told cops that the three alleged bandits grabbed the $1,465 jacket from the boutique near Dean Street at 11:50 am and fled the scene in a yellow a car.

Cops tracked down the trio, stopped them at the corner of Sixth and Flatbush avenues, and found the jacket stuffed under the driver’s seat, as well as a bag of marijuana, according to police.

Jewelry swindler

A crook swindled more than $4,000 worth of jewelry from a woman on Nov. 18.

The 33-year-old told cops that the crook, who she knew, said he knew someone who could clean up her jewelry and make it like brand new.

The victim and the perp were in the perp’s car at the corner of Prospect Place and Flatbush Avenue at 2:20 pm when the victim left a $2,000 gold chain, $200 earrings, her $1,600 wedding ring, and two bracelets totaling $2,000 in the car when she went to go get money from a bank.

When she returned nearly 40 minutes later the crook had already made off with the goods, she told police.

Gym rat

A thief broke into a locker at a Ninth Street gym on Nov. 13 — stealing cash and a credit card from a gym-goer.

The 50-year-old victim told police that he was working out at the gym between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 8 pm.

When he came back to his locker to fetch his belongings 50 minutes later, he found $140 in cash and a credit card missing from his wallet.

Brick slinger

A thief broke into a Union Street restaurant by slinging a brick through the glass door on Nov. 12.

The 34-year-old owner of the eatery between Fourth and Fifth avenues told cops that he left the restaurant at 1 am and when he came back at 9:30 am he found the glass shattered and $60 missing from the register. The brick was left lying amidst the shattered glass.

Break in

A perp broke into a Carroll Street house and stole an iPad on Nov. 12.

The 42-year-old victim told cops that the crook broke into the house between Seventh and Eighth avenues at 2 am by climbing through the front window.

The crook snagged his $600 electronic goodie and a blue backpack and escaped through the two front doors of the house — leaving behind only a handprint on the window where he broke in.

iPhone jacker

A bully smacked a man and snatched his iPhone from him on Fourth Avenue on Nov. 14.

The 31-year-old victim told police that he was near Carroll Street at 8:30 pm when the perp came up from behind him, struck him on the back, forcefully grabbed his iPhone, and ran off with it down Fourth Avenue.

Purse pinch

A bandit snagged the purse out of a woman’s cart when she was shopping at the grocery chain store on Atlantic Avenue on Nov. 12 — taking off with her credit cards and cash.

The 44-year-old victim told cops that she was shopping at the store near Flatbush Avenue at 3:30 pm when she noticed her black leather bag — holding her keys, credit cards, and $30 in cash — was missing from her shopping cart.

Wallet snatcher

A bandit snatched a woman’s wallet at the supermarket on Flatbush Avenue on Nov. 12.

The 48-year-old victim said that she was talking on her cellphone while grocery shopping at the store near Sterling Place at 12:30 pm when the perp snagged her brown leather $250 Mark Cross billfold carrying $280 in cash and her debit and credit cards.

Card swiper

A crook swiped a woman’s debit and credit card after she accidentally left her wallet in a department store on Atlantic Avenue on Nov. 9.

The 37-year-old victim told cops that she left her wallet at the store near Flatbush Avenue after she finished shopping at 4:30 pm.

When she realized that her wallet was missing later in the evening, she called her credit card company to stop put a stop to her card and she was informed that $3,400 had been charged in purchases.
