Private Picassos, a studio that allows for a unique exploration of art through various forms of creative and interactive programming, will open a second location in Clinton Hill next month.
Founder and CEO Valeen Bhat hopes the new space will further Private Picassos’ goal of inspiring creativity in everyone — and in an area close to her heart.
“I’m so thrilled to not only open a second location for my business, but to do this on the same block I lived on in college,” Bhat wrote in a social media post. “This is also the very same block where I started offering group art classes during the financial crash of 2008.”
Similar to its Park Slope studio, Private Picassos’ new and larger location will offer walk-in art making, as well as classes for children and adults, with programming for kids 12 months and above available 6 days a week. The new Grand Avenue space will also be available for birthday parties, camps and other sorts of special events.
Set to open to the public at the end of the summer, Private Picassos will host a grand opening party at the new location on Sept. 8 From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. People of all ages are invited to participate in free palette painting, and spin a prize wheel for the chance to win exciting passes and discounts.
Private Picassos bills itself, according to Baht, as a “small but mighty team of art teachers, helping kids and adults make art at our Studio, schools, homes, and businesses around NYC.”
As she gears up for the Clinton Hill studio’s September opening, Bhat says she hopes she has created a space where kids and adults can make art alongside each other without the requirement of prior reservations.
