Reflections on the Holocaust at Kings Bay Y

Poignant memories and sobering reflections drew survivors and mourners to a community-wide Holocaust memorial at the Kings Bay Y, where they packed the house for the annual commemoration.

The April 18 Yom Hashoah program — held at the community center, Nostrand Avenue and Avenue V — featured a moving candle lighting procession in memory of Jews killed during the Nazi horrors of World War II, plus stirring performances by children from the Y’s Jewish Sunday Program, and a choral group from nearby Madison Jewish Center on Nostrand Avenue and Quentin Road.

Rabbi Max Sxhryer was the guest speaker.
