An unhinged actor hacked his mother to death with a Freemason sword inside their Park Place apartment this morning, and was later arrested, cops said.
Michael Brea, 23, was arguing with Yannick Brea in the apartment between Grand and Classon avenues at 2:20 am when he allgedly attacked the 55-year-old woman while spouting Bible passages and screaming “Repent, repent,” witnesses told police.
He also referred to the “architect of the universe,” a term used by Freemasons, the New York Post reported, and allegedly said, “When I looked at my mother, I saw the devil.”
The mother died of multiple stab wounds at the scene, though the three-foot-long sword is typically used in ceremonies, not violence.
Heavily armed cops were called in to subdue the young actor and take him into custody, and he was evaluated by a psychiatrist, police said.
Criminal charges against him were pending.
Brea starred in a few episodes of “Ugly Betty” and the movie “Step Up 3D,” according to the web site belfilm.com.
