Visitors to Brooklyn Bridge Park can ride a free shuttle bus again this summer. The service transports passengers from major subway stations to the Brooklyn Bridge Park’s “Summer ‘08 @ Pier One,” providing public access to the pier and spectacular views of the New York Harbor and the New York City Waterfalls by Olafur Eliasson.
The shuttle stops are Borough Hall and High Street at Cadman Plaza West. The free shuttle service runs now to August 31 operating on Fridays, 5-10:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 12-10:30 p.m.
Pier 1 includes a café with concessions, wine, and beer and a landscape that includes trees, a sand area, and small sections of grass. Park renderings and descriptions illustrating the future park design will be displayed throughout the site.
