PS 207’s got talent.

Middle school kids from Filmore Academy at PS 207 in Marine Park debuted their stellar, on-stage rendition of the film “Fame” on March 14, and the critics agree — it was better than the movie!

“There was excellent talent, both in the singing and dancing, and we’re really excited,” said PS 207 math teacher Kimberly Simek, who directed and choreographed the musical. “It made for a great show.”

The show follows the student careers of several talented young performers as they compete for love, attention, and the starring roles in their school play at the illustrious New York City High School of Performing Arts.

The budding thespians from grades 6–8 had been rehearsing since October to make the show something special — and their hard work paid off.

The kid’s rendition of “Fame” was so good, teachers can’t remember the last time the auditorium was so packed.

“It was probably our biggest audience yet,” said Simek. “It was close to a packed house and a lot of the students came to support their friends.”
