That’s fishy
At least two sushi lovers ended up with a raw deal in separate burglaries on Fifth Avenue on April 22. Here is the stinky news:
• A thief snatched a woman’s purse while she dined at Ginza, between First and Second streets. The victim told cops that she had set down her purse at 8:10 pm, but it was not there when she tried to retrieve it. Later, a videotape showed the fishy bandit making his move to swipe the goods, valued at $820.
• A thief swiped a woman’s purse at Mura, which is between Fifth and Sixth streets, at around 8:25 pm. He got away with a purse and $550 in stuff.
Super slick
A slick perp ripped off a Pacific Street home on April 22 with an unlikely burglar’s tool — the front door key!
The victim told cops that she her home between Fourth and Flatbush avenues at 10 am and returned 11 hours later to find her laptop computer and a pair of earrings missing.
She told cops that she gave her super the apartment key to make repairs earlier, but the handiman said he wasn’t at work during the time of the burglary.
Furniture score
A crook made off with nearly half of a woman’s home when he swiped a moving van from a storage facility on Fourth Avenue overnight on March 25.
The victim told cops that she parked a full van at the U-Haul near Sixth Street, and returned the next day to find the truck gone.
The perp got her living room and bedroom furniture, a TV, chest of drawers, chair and china cabinet — all valued at $11,500.
She didn’t report the crime until April 19.
Denim’s da breaks
Cops nabbed two clothes hounds a block away from a Fifth Avenue store where they allegedly nabbed over $2,000 in denim on April 20.
A worker at the boutique, which is near Union Street, told cops that three perps entered the store at around 5 pm. One distracted an employee while the other two snagged 14 pairs of designer jeans before fleeing.
An employee got a good look at the trio, and cops quickly arrested two suspects nearby.
Nailed!
A thief snatched a woman’s nurse while she got her nails done at a Fifth Avenue salon on April 22.
The vicitm told cops that she had set down the purse in the seat next to hers in the salon between Park and Sterling places, but it was gone by the time she returned from picking out a nail color.
Zoo station
A thief busted a car window and snatched a woman’s wallet along the quiet stretch of Flatbush Avenue near the Prospect Park Zoo on April 20.
The victim told cops that she parked her car at 11:30 am and went for an hourlong job. When she returned, she discovered that the rear passenger window had been busted and her wallet had been taken.
iPerp
A tech-savvy perp swiped a bounty of digital goods from an SUV parked on Fifth Street on April 21.
The victim told cops he left his car parked between Seventh and Eighth avenues at 7 pm and returned three hours later to find a laptop, a navigation system and an iPod missing.
Civic-minded
A thief stole a 12-year-old Honda Civic on Seventh Street overnight on April 17.
The victim told cops that she parked her gray Tin Lizzie between Seventh and Eighth avenues at 7 pm. By 10:30 the next morning, the beloved clunker was gone.
