Tough mama
A thief snatched a gold chain from a woman on Third Avenue on July 19, but the victim fought back and regained her necklace.
The 29-year-old victim told cops that she was near Schermerhorn Street at 1:46 pm when a stranger plucked her $640 chain with the pendant “No. 1 Mama.” The woman struggled with the would-be crook until he dropped her bling.
No one was injured, but the tough mama said she broke a nail.
Breaking news
A robber struck a Flatbush Avenue newsstand on July 22 but cops say they arrested him shortly after.
The 46-year-old employee told cops that the crook entered his stand near Fulton Street at 7:25 pm, pushed him to the floor and yelled, “You, give me all the money!”
The two-bit bandit then grabbed a wad of cash and fled, but police say that they later found him on Hanson Place with the crumpled bills in his pockets.
Cell no!
A thief snatched the iPhone from an Australian woman’s hand on Smith Street on July 23.
The 30-year-old tourist told cops that she was near Warren Street at 8:30 pm when a fleet-footed stranger grabbed her phone and fled. The woman returned to the land down under — sans her mobile.
School’s gold
A thief snagged cash, a navigation system and college ID from a car on Gold Street on July 23.
Two victims told police that they parked near Flatbush Avenue Extension at 1 pm and returned an hour later to find the loot, plus $210, library books, debit cards, and a cellphone, were gone.
Tune out
A crook stole a bunch of CDs and $10 from an SUV on St. Marks Place last week.
The 42-year-old victim told cops that she parked near Fourth Avenue on July 20 at 8 pm. When she returned two days later, her tunes, cash, debit card, and driver’s license were missing.
Moneybag
A marauder plucked a tote containing $500 on Flatbush Avenue Extension on July 22.
The 19-year-old victim told police that she had just withdrawn the cash from a bank and was near Fulton Street at 7 pm when the thief grabbed her bag and fled.
Subway swipe
A thief stole a man’s iPhone on an A train under Brooklyn Heights on July 22.
The 59-year-old straphanger told cops that he was on the crowded train at 6:15 pm when a stranger bumped him. When he got off at Jay Street about 15 minutes later, his cell was gone.
Shopping grift
A pickpocket scored a senior citizen’s wallet at the Fulton Street Macy’s on July 15.
The 66-year-old victim told cops that she was at the department store near Lawrence Street at 10 am when a strange woman ran into her. When she reached for her cellphone an hour later, she realized her billfold — along with $300 and credit cards — was gone.
Train drain
A subway grifter stole the wallet from a man on a Manhattan-bound C train on July 5.
The 29-year-old victim told police that he got off at Hoyt–Schermerhorn at 9:45 am and realized that his billfold was missing. He went to the station’s booth and found it on the floor — without his cards and $45.
The next day, someone withdrew more than $3,000 from his account.
Under the table
A crook stole $1,500 from a woman’s purse at the fancy River Cafe on Water Street on July 18.
The 46-year-old employee said that she left her bag under a table at the venerable eatery near Old Fulton Street at 8:10 am. When she returned later that day, her cash was gone.
Against the law
A fraudulent deliveryman stole a bag from a Court Street law office on July 19.
The 34-year-old victim told police that she left the building near Montague Street at 3 pm. She was gone only five minutes — enough time for a stranger to walk in, pick up her purse and say he was delivering it to a next-door office.
The swindler got keys, debit cards, $300, documents, a U.S. passport and checks.
Lap-stop
A thief broke into a Bergen Street hair salon through the air conditioning unit and stole a laptop computer last week.
The 44-year-old owner told cops that she left her beauty parlor near Fourth Avenue at on July 21 at 7 pm. When she returned two days later, she saw that someone had pushed in her A/C to steal her Sony computer.
Cashed out
A gang of marauders punched a teen at the Bergen Street subway station on July 21 after they discovered he had no cash.
The 17-year-old victim said that he was at the station’s exit on Smith Street at 11:25 pm when 10 men and one woman blocked him on the stairs.
One mugger demanded money, but the teen refused to give up any. Two of the thieves then went through his pockets and confirmed that their target was broke.
That’s when one of them punched the moneyless victim in the face and the mob fled.
Two-wheel steal
A thief stole a woman’s moped from Joralemon Street on July 17.
The 40-year-old victim told cops that she parked near Columbia Place at 2 pm, but when she returned the next day, her wheels were gone.
