Free Black History Month events at City Tech

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of The City University of New York will celebrate Black History Month with free events during February at 300 Jay Street (at Tillary Street) in downtown Brooklyn.

Now to February 28, enjoy a Library Exhibit: “Images and Representations: African Americans in the Media” in the Atrium Building, fourth floor.

There is a Panel Discussion: “Images and Representations: African Americans in the Media,”February 24 in the Atrium Amphitheater, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This discussion looks at the media and representation of African Americans by City Tech Professors Marta Effinger-Crichlow/ African American Studies, Peter Catapano/Social Science and Douglas Davis/Advertising, Design & Graphic Arts.

The keynote address will be delivered by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Pamela Newkirk, a professor of journalism at New York University.
