Help save Will, the abused dog

A crazed Williamsburg woman took her anger out on her dog last Wednesday, slamming the puppy to the ground and declaring herself “the Queen of Brooklyn,” according to witnesses.

Alexandra Mendez-Diez, 30, began her tirade at around 10:30 pm by throwing her belongings out of her N. Seventh Street apartment window. Then, horrified bystanders said, she walked out of her front door and body slammed the canine, a white shih tzu named Will.

Police arrived minutes later, charging the woman with reckless endangerment, torturing and injuring animals, disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mendez-Diez faces two years in prison on the crimes. She has no prior criminal charges, according to a spokesman for District Attorney Charles Hynes.

The puppy was taken to a veterinary hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals is taking up the abused pooch’s cause, collecting donations to pay for Will’s medical care.
